Mounting evidence from clinical studies has demonstrated the association between EAT volume and increased risks for cardiovascular diseases, particularly CAD. Here, we present a comprehensive transcriptomic atlas of human pericoronary EAT, encompassing cellular states in both normal and diseased conditions. We performed snRNA-seq on pericoronary EAT samples collected from three groups of subjects: patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery for severe CAD, CAD patients with concomitant T2D, and patients with valvular diseases but without concomitant CAD and T2D as the control group.
